Marisco’s Playa Hermosa, desde el mar a su mesa, was established in March 2002 by Jose and Maria Maldonado. The Maldonado’s, originally from Guanajuato, Mexico; a small colonial town about three hours North of Mexico City, came to the United States in pursuit of achieving the American dream for themselves, and specifically for their children. Through their efforts in establishing Mariscos Playa Hermosa, they have been able to successfully help put their children through college.
They wanted to provide the community with a taste of Sinaloan style Mexican Seafood, providing excellent customer service, quality and delicious dishes, and a memorable experience that would keep its customers coming back for more. Their specialties include seafood cocktails, seven seas soup, octopus in garlic sauce, Veracruzana, shrimp in a tomatillo cheese sauce, crab enchiladas with plenty of real crab meat, and a tasty ceviche that will make one lick their fingers.
Our green guacamole style salsa is made from scratch daily, utilizing the freshest ingredients accompanied by warm crunchy homemade tortilla chips. It’s delicious approach to Sinaloan style seafood has gained popularity within the diverse neighboring Phoenix community. With its most recent featuring in the prestigious New York Gourmet Magazine, the Arizona Republic, the New Times, and the local Prensa Hispana newspapers, the Maldonado’s have recommitted their mission to continue providing their customers with a unique and tasteful experience, striving for the excellency that will make Mariscos Playa Hermosa the restaurant of choice.
